Rising Ugandan songstress Ava Peace has unveiled her highly anticipated new single, “Omwana We Buddu” (translated as “Child of Buddu”), a soul-stirring ode to her cultural roots and personal journey. Released today across all major streaming platforms, the track blends Afrobeat rhythms with traditional Luganda melodies, creating a vibrant anthem of pride and identity.
A Fusion of Past and Present
Produced by award-winning Ugandan producer Moses “MoKeys” Ssebagala, “Omwana We Buddu” pays homage to Ava’s ancestral ties to the Buddu region, a historical kingdom in Buganda. The song’s lyrics weave heartfelt storytelling with infectious beats, celebrating resilience, family legacy, and the beauty of Ugandan heritage.
“This song is my love letter to Buddu,” says Ava Peace. “It’s about remembering where we come from and carrying that strength into everything we do. I want listeners to feel connected to their own stories while dancing to the rhythm.”
