Art arcade refers to using the deepest cores
of the brain, imagination and intelligence to build something great. This name
was chosen to spear head our vision in the music industry.
The major characters in
art ARCADE are Muganga Ibra (A.I.B stereo) and Lutaaya Jewstine (j.Jay)
The two are brothers who
grew up from the same family. We were members of the village church choir and
the school choir almost all our tender age. Singing and using musical
instruments has always been part of our life.
Jewstine holds a
bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering, while Ibra holds a bachelor’s
degree in medical laboratory technology. Though both are working as teachers.
Our big brother Jo B was
an inferior member of the good lyf, and Aib sterio used to help him back up his
music. Later Jo B lost interest in music, but his producers insisted that AIB
would be a good artiste. The producers mainly Alvin from Makindye offered to
help AIB produce music. By this AIB made his first Solo songs SENORA and
SHEILA. A.I.B used to find it hard to work alone, so during university days he
lured Raj to join him. They made some few songs, however Raj lost interest in
music and joined his personal business.
J.jay was working within
Nakulabye and Kasubi as a solo rapper and he suggested that A.I.B and J.Jay
make a duo. Unfortunately or fortunately the duo was similar to that of radio
and weasel, comprising of a rapper and a vocalist. So on doing the very first
project “Break and Whyne” our audio engineer Rennie said we could make good
music together. Then we worked on Miss you, Wala and several projects we are
yet to release.
The major problem we find, is that people over think we mimic Radio and weasel, however we are just inspired by their strength, ability to work together and the positive energy they used to lift themselves from nowhere to legends. We also aim at doing it the way they did it.”What we can see as the major similarity is we don’t sing words/titles/trends. We sing music that will live, we give our lyrics time, we sing what happens in life we mine lyrics from reality.
That’s why we say we are making growing music. We believe the industry is ours to conquer” sterio. Though keeping the legacy of Radio R.I.P is our objective, we have other artistes driving us! King saha, Akon, Queen Sheeba, Jose Chameleon and shaggy. In all we are driven by those hustlers, those original men, those men who respect and give their art time with no strings attached, they have conquered the world. Tho king Mozey remains the greatest.
