Jackie Chandiru was sent to
Naguru Hospital and Bunamwaya Rehabilitation Centre for treatment in 2020
before being airlifted out to Kenya because her health had not improved.
She started taking pethidine,
a medication, to treat residual back pain after an injury, but soon became
hooked to it.
In past interviews, the singer
has claimed that she would experience extreme sleepiness and euphoria following
her consumption of the synthetic opiate.
Jackie Chandiru moved to
Nairobi after completing treatment and then traveled to Europe. She revealed
that she has been clean for four years throughout the interview.
