Odoch John Fisher, popularly
known as "The Rebel," is a talented Ugandan boxer who is currently
based in Germany. He was born on December 31, 2000, and has made a significant
impact in the boxing world with his skills and determination.
Fisher began his professional
boxing career in Germany, with his first fight taking place in Rostock. This
memorable event marked the beginning of his journey as a professional boxer. In
2019, Fisher achieved a remarkable feat by winning the silver medal in the
Under 22 Germany Championship, showcasing his talent and determination in the
ring.
Representing the Hessen Boxing
Federation, Fisher competed in the Bundesliga for a year, where he displayed
his exceptional skills and contributed to his team's success. His performances
helped the Hessen Boxing Federation secure an impressive third position in the
league.
Before his move to Germany,
Fisher showcased his boxing prowess in Uganda. In 2016, he participated in the
Uganda National Open Championship held at the MTN Arena in Lugogo. It was in
this tournament that Fisher emerged victorious in the youth category,
establishing himself as a rising talent in the Ugandan boxing scene.
Fisher's skills and dedication
also earned him recognition on an international level. In 2018, he participated
in the Darmstadt Boxing Gala, where he secured a notable victory over a boxer
from Switzerland. The following year, due to his exceptional performance,
Fisher received a wild card from the World Amateur Boxing Federation during the
quarter-finals of the Youth Boxing Club.
The Rebel also participated in
the World Youth Boxing Championship, representing Uganda on the global stage.
Although he faced tough competition, Fisher displayed his fighting spirit and
resilience. In a memorable match against Azerbaijan, Fisher fought valiantly
but lost with a score of 3-0.
Fisher's success continued as he participated in the Intermediate National Championship, where he showcased his skills and earned a well-deserved bronze medal. Additionally, he competed in the African Championship in Casablanca, Morocco, where he faced a challenging opponent from Algeria.
Throughout his career, Fisher has garnered attention not only for his impressive achievements but also for his dedication to training. Viral training session clips have showcased his commitment and the hard work he puts into refining his skills and maintaining his physical fitness.
In his last amateur fight,
held in Großostheim, Fisher left a lasting impression. He emerged victorious
with a technical knockout in the second round, solidifying his reputation as a
talented and formidable boxer.
