Aziz Azion, a
singer-songwriter, guitarist, and previously well-known TV personality, has
shared his story about being ejected from stage by presenter Straka
"Baibe" Mwezi.
The musician, who is 39 years
old, talked about the experience and some of the challenging times he has had
in his career, particularly before he rose to fame.
It was important to him to
emphasize that all of this occurred during a show at the opening of a brand-new
hangout in Banda (2009).
According to Aziz Azion, just
as he was about to start performing his song "Monday," Straka Mwezi
unexpectedly stormed the stage and interrupted him.
Aziz Azion didn't take well to
this, and when the year came to an end, he went to Muswangali studio and
produced his breakthrough hit, "Nkumila Omukwano," which blew up on
the radio before embarking on a nearly three-month tour of Japan.
Upon his return in January
2009, he saw that his song had become the town's buzz. He was the featured
artist in an exhibition that Straka Mwezi had organized.
He also chose not to attend
the show as a means of repaying her for embarrassing him, and she also had to
deal with the fallout from a popular musician skipping an event.
In an interview with media
personality Eddie Sendi on the Vybe Life Ug YouTube channel, Aziz Azion, who is
getting ready for his upcoming "Strings of Love" show at Kampala
Serena Hotel on November 4th, talked about that very uncomfortable event.
Not only has Straka's case
disappointed him, he continued, but he also related how Balaam Barugahara had
once planned his show and nearly refused to publicize it, preferring that he
perform for empty seats.
