Former member of the well-known
African singing duo Radio & Weasel, singer Weasel Manizo, has sparked
controversy by claiming that songstress Azawi's most recent song,
"Masavu," was unlawfully accessed from late Mowzey Radio's unreleased
projects.
The controversy started when Azawi clarified
earlier this week that "Masavu (Radio’s version)" was created with AI
technology and was not derived from any of the late Mowzey Radio, who passed
away in 2018.
Nevertheless, through Radio &
Weasel’s official social media handles, it was discovered that a page from
Mowzey Radio’s Musical book is missing, suggesting possible unauthorized access
to his unreleased works.
It's important to note that since
Mowzey Radio's death, the music industry has been dogged by controversy
concerning his unreleased tracks. According to sources, some of his songs
vanished from the various studios where he recorded them.
Weasel's allegations have put Azawi's management firm, Swangz Avenue, under
investigation because it was one of the studios allegedly in possession of some
of Mowzey Radio's unreleased tracks.
